Description

Providence House Assisted Living is looking for CNAs/HHAs to join our wellness team!

We are a 102 unit building in Brighton, MA. We have all shifts available with the option of flexible schedules!

We are hiring full time, part time & per diem! We offer competitive pay and benefits.

You will provide outstanding patient care and physical support for residents on a daily basis. To do well in this role you should have your state-certified nursing assistant certification from a recognized CNA program, or Home Health Aide certificate. The CNA/HHA performs multiple care duties that contribute to the health, well-being, and quality of life for the residents of the community.

FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION:

Provides great patient care

Answers resident calls and determining how best to help them.

Carries out activities of daily living with assigned residents, i.e. washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, ambulation, transfers from bed to chair, etc.

Assists with maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of residents' apartments specified in the resident’s service plan.

Observes and reports changes in residents' condition, behavior, or mental status to Resident Care Director.

Accurately and completely documents resident care and observation as directed.

Assists with, but does not administer, medication to residents.

Assures confidentiality of all resident information.

Adheres to all safety policies including reporting/removing hazards immediately. Reports all unusual occurrences promptly.

Encourages and supports the concepts of the Habilitation model of care for residents.

Responds to medical and all other emergencies promptly.

Attends all required in-service education programs. Responsible for all information in the employee handbook.

Recommends equipment and supply needs to the Resident Care Director.

Works assigned hours per week, that may include night, weekend and holiday time.

Other tasks that may become necessary/appropriate as requested by the Resident Care Director

 

We are actively taking measures to protect our Residents and Employees during the COVID-19 situation including: distribution of PPE, temperature screenings upon arrival to work, and periodic COVID testing required onsite provided by our dedicated infection control team!

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Valid CNA license or HHA certificate required

Prior experience in an assisted living community is preferred

Demonstrates proficiency at reading and understanding a Resident Care Service Plan or assignment (e.g., ADLs and introductory visits)

Understands the nursing function in assisted living

Understands quality of care objectives

Understands quality of life objectives

Previous experience working with people with dementia is desired
